Terms of use

1. Purpose

These Terms of Use ("ToU") govern access to and use of the Snottebel site, an independent directory of contests listed in Belgium, accessible at https://snottebel.be and associated subdomains.

2. Acceptance

Registration on the Site constitutes full acceptance of these ToU and the Privacy Policy. If you do not accept these conditions, you may not create an account or use member features.

3. Definitions

  • Site: the Snottebel platform and associated applications.
  • User: any person accessing the Site, whether registered or not.
  • Member: user with an account.
  • Premium Member: member who has subscribed to the paid plan.

4. Registration and account

Registration is free and open to natural persons aged 16 and over. You undertake to:

  • provide accurate and up-to-date information;
  • not create multiple accounts;
  • keep your credentials confidential;
  • inform us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

The chosen username must not infringe the rights of any third party, nor be insulting, discriminatory, obscene or misleading. We reserve the right to delete any account that fails to comply with these rules.

5. Nature of the service — Snottebel is a directory

Snottebel does not organise any contest. We list contests, games and draws organised by third-party companies (media outlets, brands, associations…) that are publicly accessible. For each listed contest:

  • the participation conditions, the rules, the selection of the winner and the awarding of the prize are exclusively the responsibility of the original organiser;
  • we do not guarantee the accuracy of the information displayed, the availability of the contest, nor the lawfulness of its operation;
  • all participation is made directly on the organiser's site, subject to their own conditions.

6. Use of the service

You undertake to use the Site in good faith. The following are prohibited in particular:

  • the copying, extraction or systematic reuse of Site content (scraping, harvesting);
  • any attempt to undermine the security of the Site or the accounts of other members;
  • the publication of insulting, defamatory, hateful, unsolicited commercial comments, or comments that infringe the rights of third parties;
  • unauthorised automated use of the Site (bots).

7. Premium subscription

The financial and contractual conditions of the Premium subscription are described in the Terms of Sale, accessible from the footer. These ToS prevail over the ToU for any question relating to the sale.

8. Comment moderation

Comments posted on contest pages are visible to other members. We reserve the right, without prior notice or compensation, to hide or delete any content that contravenes these ToU or the law. A reporting system is available to users.

9. Liability

We make every effort to ensure the availability, accuracy and security of the Site, without however guaranteeing uninterrupted availability or the absence of errors. Our liability may not be engaged:

  • in case of force majeure, network failure or failure of a subcontractor;
  • for content originating from contest organisers;
  • for the consequences of non-compliant use of the Site by a member.

In no event shall our liability to a member exceed the amount paid by that member during the past 12 months.

10. Intellectual property

All rights relating to the Site (code, design, database, Snottebel trademark) are reserved to us. Any unauthorised reproduction, distribution or exploitation is prohibited.

11. Personal data

The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, accessible from the footer.

12. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from My account > Profile > Danger zone. We may terminate or suspend an account in the event of a serious breach of these ToU, with prior notice where applicable.

13. Changes

We may amend the ToU. The applicable version is the one in force at the time of your use. Substantial changes will be notified to you.

14. Applicable law and competent jurisdiction

These ToU are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute shall fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of the judicial district of [TO BE COMPLETED], subject to the mandatory rules of consumer protection.
